The Growing Competitive Scene
The recent launch of Gigantic's open beta has given the player-base the long-awaited opportunity to hone their skills at the game. Newcomers and veterans alike have been spamming solo queue games to raise their match-made-rankings, learn as much as they can, and just have fun. Now that players have the ability to consistently play the game, the competitive scenes in both North America and Europe are growing.
In the North American region, Team ApeX and Another Team (Team ART) are still holding stable rosters, but will they be able to maintain their dominance against fresh competition? The ex-Team 84 player and Team ART founder, "Voxel", has started a new team, Eternals. The Eternals roster holds some of the fresh, new solo queue stars, as well as the veteran talent of "Packers0491" and captain, "Boboimo". Popular Gigantic streamer, "Vizz Le Shizz", also founded Team FEED, whose roster has already had some scrim experience against Team ART. There have also been rumors of some teams made entirely of Xbox One players teams in NA who are eager to show how well they can perform on console.
The European region has also seen its share of growth since the launch of open beta. The old Imagine roster has started Massive Damage, and rounded out their roster with some very experienced players to retain their dominant form. Since GG Tea Party broke up, some of the members have started GG Royale, and aim to take the top spot in the region. After some recent roster restructuring, Brutal Fissure is another team with veteran experience. Although they've been referred to as a bit of a "wildcard" by members of the Massive Damage, "Gaiex" and "Rakychu", they are expected to put up a fight.
Since the launch of open beta, both the North American and European regions have seen new teams popping up to brawl it out. Both veterans and newcomers are eager to build their skills, learn new strategies, and prove they are the best team. As the population of Gigantic continues to grow, the competitive scene is bound to keep growing with it.
